A COVID-19 outbreak continues at the Exeter Villa long-term care home.
In a release on Wednesday, the home confirmed that a long-time resident who had tested positive for COVID-19 passed away. The home is now in a declared outbreak, as well as the Exeter Villa retirement home.
“We are mourning the loss of a cherished resident as we extend our sympathy to their family and friends,” said Erika King, Exeter Villa Administrator.
On the long-term care side, there have been 14 total confirmed cases in residents and 6 confirmed cases in staff. On the retirement home side, there is 1 confirmed case in a resident and no cases among staff. Testing is done every week for staff and every 5-6 days for residents.
All affected residents continue to receive care, and Exeter Villa is working closely with Huron Perth Public Health to manage case and contact management and infection control.
