LPH reports over 30 COVID recoveries, workplace outbreak

The local active COVID-19 caseload has dropped after over 30 cases were deemed resolved.

In it's daily update Thursday, Lambton Public Health reported 32 recoveries from the virus as well as 23 new infections, now up to 755 since March.

That brings the number of active cases to 157, down from 166 Wednesday.

There's been no change to the death toll which stands at 28, and Bluewater Health still has five COVID-positive patients in hospital.

Lambton Public Health says one workplace outbreak has been declared over, while another has been added, keeping the number of workplace, school and institutional outbreaks at 15.

The name of the workplace will only be released if public notification will help identify additional close contacts that can't be determined through contact tracing.

The local health agency will not be releasing COVID-19 reports Friday due to the holiday and will update the local stats on January 2.
