Sarnia-Lambton's COVID-19 numbers were more positive Tuesday.
Lambton Public Health reported 28 new confirmed cases and 44 additional recoveries, putting the active case count at 223, down from 240 reported Monday.
Bluewater Health said the number of COVID-positive patients at the Sarnia site has decreased by five to a total of 10. Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said three patients were cleared and moved to other units, and two were discharged. She said two remained in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Chief of Staff Mike Haddad tweeted Tuesday that there has been a slow but steady rise in COVID-related admissions lately, and that the local ICU was at 107 per cent capacity with 20 per cent having COVID illness.
Overall, since last March, Sarnia-Lambton's case count is at 1,675 with 1,418 resolved cases, and 33 deaths.
The number of outbreaks is down one at 13. A workplace outbreak has been declared over, leaving two with a total of 11 cases. There are 11 active institutional outbreaks including 10 at long-term care and retirement homes and one at Sarnia Jail.
