Break-in suspect arrested short distance from scene
A 28-year-old Chatham man is facing several charges in connection with a Wednesday morning break-in on Lagoon Road.
Police said through their investigation, they were able to identify the man responsible and took him into custody a short distance away.
Officers said when they searched the man, they also found some suspected methamphetamine, crack cocaine, mini scales, cell phones, and a debit card on him that belonged to someone else.
As a result, he was charged with several offences including break and enter, mischief, and possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Man caught going for a drive outside of his curfew
A 48-year-old man is in more trouble with the law after he was allegedly caught going for a drive out past his court-imposed curfew.
Chatham-Kent police said the man was supposed to stay inside between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., but an officer on general patrol reported seeing the man driving his truck on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The officer pulled the man over, arrested him, and charged him with failing to comply with his release conditions.
He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Police target speeders on Longwoods Road
Chatham-Kent police are reminding drivers to slow down after they handed out nine speeding tickets during a recent traffic enforcement blizt on Longwoods Road.
Police said they will continue to roll out traffic enforcement initiatives as part of an ongoing commitment to road safety.

Two arrests on warrants
A 27-year-old Wallaceburg woman and a 27-year-old man of no fixed address are both facing more charges after police picked them up on some outstanding warrants on Wednesday.
Police said the woman was arrested late Wednesday afternoon -- she was wanted for failing to comply with conditions in her probation order. She was later released with a future court date.
The man -- who was wanted for a drug trafficking offence -- was arrested Wednesday night and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
