Active COVID cases continue to drop in Sarnia-Lambton

A spike in resolved COVID-19 cases has resulted in a big drop in the number of active infections.

Lambton Public Health reported just three new confirmed cases in Tuesday's daily update, for a total of 1,845 since the end of March.

The number of recoveries increased by 21 to 1,739, lowering the active case count to 68, down from 86 on Monday. On January 5, Sarnia-Lambton had 323 active cases.

The death toll remained unchanged at 38 Tuesday.

The health unit said there are still seven workplace and institutional outbreaks.

Bluewater Health has six positive patients in hospital, down from seven.
