COVID-19 fatalities increase in Midwestern Ontario Wednesday

There were another three COVID-19 fatalities reported Wednesday morning by public health officials in Midwestern Ontario.

Two more people have passed away in Wellington County as a result of COVID-19.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public health reports an outbreak at Palmerston Hospital contributed to a second death.

The outbreak at Caressant Care Long Term Care in Arthur has contributed to an 11th death. The pandemic has now taken 20 lives in Wellington County.

An outbreak also continues at Wellington Terrace and there are nine active workplace outbreaks.

There were no new cases of the novel coronavirus confirmed in Wellington, but as of Wednesday morning there are still 54 active cases, and four hospitalizations.

The Pandemic has contributed to the loss of another life in the Huron and Perth region. Public health reports 42 fatalities due to COVID-19.

There were three new cases added Wednesday, and three people are in hospital. In all there are 72 active cases, and 102 of their contacts are in isolation.

Outbreaks continue at Seaforth Manor, Caressant Care, and Fordwich Village.
