Assault in Chatham
A woman will have to answer to charges after getting into a confrontation at a Chatham business.
It happened on Queen Street. According to police, the woman was involved in a verbal confrontation with a worker at the business. The confrontation turned physical and the woman allegedly spat on and bit the employee.
Officers arrived and arrested the suspect. While searching her, police found her in possession of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine.
She was transported to Chatham-Kent police headquarters and released with a future court date. No injuries were sustained by the employee.
Traffic complaint leads to impaired charges
A call to police is to thank for helping get an allegedly impaired driver off the road in Blenheim.
Police received a complaint about a vehicle all over the roadway on Talbot Trail. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested. He was taken to the police station and allegedly refused to provide a breath sample.
As a result, the Leamington man was charged with operating while impaired and refusing a breath sample. He was eventually released with a future court date.
Man arrested for indecent exposure
A man will have to go in front of a judge after allegedly exposing himself in Chatham.
Police were initially called to St. Clair Street for a dispute between neighbours earlier in the day. A second call eventually came in and information was received that a man involved in the earlier dispute had exposed himself to his neighbour.
The man was located and arrested for an indecent act. He was transferred to police headquarters and later released with a future court date.
Break and enters in CK
Chatham-Kent police are looking for tips after a trio of break and enters across the municipality.
On Gregory Drive in Chatham, police say two men broke into a trailer at a construction site and stole $2,000 worth of tools. Also in Chatham, on McFarlane Avenue, unknown suspects broke into a detached garage and stole $2,000 worth of various tools.
Elsewhere, in Erieau, two men were seen entering the back of a shop on Erieau Road. The men left in a compact vehicle. Various items were stolen and the incident is under investigation.
Anyone with information in either incident is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
Warrant arrests
Two people who were wanted on outstanding warrants, one in Wallaceburg and one in Chatham, turned themselves into police.
Both were released with future court dates.
