Grey Bruce Health Unit monitors probable case associated with Dundalk school

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added one COVID-19 case to its count late Sunday.

That was in Kincardine and puts the active case count at 22.

The health unit is also working with the Bluewater District School Board to address a probable case of COVID-19 associated with Highpoint Community School in Dundalk. In a release, health officials say the probable case is defined as direct link with a positive case, symptomatic and has not yet been tested.

But officials add the assessment, to date, indicates that transmission did not take place within the school environment.

And there is communication between the health unit and Kids Club Before and After school childcare program at Highpoint School to address a probable case of COVID-19 associated with a cohort at the centre. Again, the unit's assessment states there is no evidence of transmission within the childcare centre environment.

Currently the health unit has not declared any outbreaks at schools or childcare centers in Grey and Bruce.
