Slight increase in COVID cases Sunday

Lambton Public Health is reporting eight new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and four more resolved cases in its daily update Sunday.

The active case count is now at 84.

There have been 1,946 confirmed cases in Sarnia-Lambton since the pandemic began last March.

A total of 1,817 cases have been deemed resolved, and there have been 45 deaths.

There are nine active workplace and institutional outbreaks, including at Sarnia Jail.

The health unit is also reporting active outbreaks at Trillium Villa Long Term Care Community, Landmark Village Retirement Home, Vision Rest Home, Vision Nursing Home, Village on the St. Clair Retirement Home, Twin Lakes Terrace Long Term Care Home, and Country Manor Estates Retirement Home.

Bluewater Health has two COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Saturday.

Lambton Public Health said there will not be a COVID-19 update on holiday Monday, regular reporting will resume on Tuesday.
