Residents of Brucelea Haven Long Term Care Home in Walkerton, and Gateway Haven Long Term Care Home in Wiarton have received their second doses of their COVID-19 vaccine.
That includes 128 residents and 7 staff members at Brucelea Haven, and 86 residents and 13 staff members at the Gateway Haven.
Brucelea Haven resident and President of the Resident's Council, Pat Clark, said, "It is such a relief to get our second dose of the vaccine. Thank you to all the frontline workers for your continued support during this time. I look forward to the brighter days ahead."
The Grey Bruce Health Unit reminds the public that vaccinations are not yet available for the general public and that there is no appointment scheduling or vaccine waiting list at this time.
Warden Janice Jackson added, "I would like to once again thank the Grey Bruce Health Unit and our region's frontline workers for continuing to provide care, advocating for safety, and rapidly vaccinating our high-risk and long-term care residents, and essential caregivers. Thank you to our residents, long term care staff, and families for your daily cooperation as we make each day better and push forward together."
