Sarnia-Lambton's COVID-19 case count moved above 2,500 Friday and active cases surpassed 200.
Lambton Public Health reported 35 new confirmed infections for a total of 2,514 since the start of the pandemic.
The number of recovered cases increased 13 to 2,259, the death toll remained unchanged at 47, pushing the number of active infections up 22 to 208.
Two more institutional and school outbreaks were reported for a total of 13.
Public health, as of Friday, had declared outbreaks in seven schools, the most recent at Northern Collegiate. There were six active outbreaks at long-term care and retirement homes, the latest declared Thursday at Marshall Gowland Manor. A total of 24 schools in Lambton have at least one student or staff case, 19 in the public board and five in the Catholic system. Two schools remain closed. North Lambton Secondary School in Forest, as of Friday, had positive cases involving 16 students and one staff. Brooke Central Public School remained closed with the number of positive student cases at eight.
Bluewater Health has five positive patients in hospital, unchanged from Thursday.
