The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is expanding the age range for people who can book a COVID-19 vaccination in the region.
As of Friday, adults born in 1961 or earlier are now able to register to book an appointment at one of the five vaccination clinics in Windsor-Essex - The WFCU Centre, The St. Clair College SportsPlex, Windsor Hall, the Libro Credit Union Centre in Amherstburg and The Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre in Leamington.
Vaccinations are by appointment only and walk-ins are not being accepted. All COVID-19 vaccination appointments at targeted or mass vaccination clinics are for first doses only.
"Please note that there are currently limited long-term appointments in the booking system as upcoming vaccine supply shipments are unknown," read a release from the health unit. "As we are able to confirm the upcoming vaccine supply, the number of appointments available will be adjusted into the booking system."
According to the health unit's website, the vaccine that will be administered through the targeted vaccination clinics is subject to change based on vaccine supply.
