Spike of 46 cases snaps recent run of COVID declines

Sarnia-Lambton's total COVID-19 case count since the start of the pandemic hit the 3,000 mark Friday with a spike of 46 new infections.

Lambton Public Health reported the caseload is now at 3,001 with 2,799 recoveries, an increase of 15. After steady declines recently, the number of active cases went up by 31 to 150.

There are eight active institutional, school and workplace outbreaks, down one from Thursday.

Bluewater Health had 10 COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one in the last 24 hours.
