A house fire in Dresden has caused $350,000 in damage.
Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services said the blaze at 1381 North Street started in the kitchen on Friday during lunch hour and has been deemed accidental. The fire prevention team investigated the fire and said it started from an appliance in the kitchen.
Firefighters from Dresden and Tupperville responded and put out the fire quickly.
No one was hurt.
Fire Public Educator Whitney Burk is urging everyone to protect their family from fire and carbon monoxide by having working smoke alarms on every level of their home and working carbon monoxide alarms outside all sleeping areas if your home has any fuel burning appliances, a fireplace, or an attached garage.
There have been several fires across Chatham-Kent in the past few weeks, including a $3 million blaze on Inshes Avenue in Chatham last week.
