Daily COVID-19 case counts in the London area remain in the single digits.
On Sunday, the Middlesex-London Health Unit reported seven new cases of the virus. Local health officials reported five cases on Saturday, 12 cases on Friday and 22 cases on Thursday.
The region’s total case count is now at 12,426. Meanwhile, there were 13 more recoveries reported on Sunday, causing the number of known active cases to slip below 100, down to 96.
No new deaths were reported in the region on Sunday, with the local death toll remaining at 222. The last death reported in London-Middlesex was on Friday when a man in his 30s passed away.
Only three more variant infections were identified over the past 24 hours for a total of 3,253. There are 304 cases with a mutation-positive sample.
There are currently no reported outbreaks throughout the region.
Across Ontario, provincial health officials reported 530 new cases on Sunday, seven more deaths and 763 additional recoveries. As of Saturday night, the province had administered 11.2 million doses of the vaccine.
