Bicycle stolen from Chatham home

Police are looking for suspects following a break-in at a home in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Saturday at around 9 a.m., police responded to the home on Victoria Avenue after a red bicycle was stolen.

The men's bike is valued at around $250.

Alleged beer thief caught drinking the goods

A Windsor man is facing charges after a case of beer was stolen from the LCBO in Thamesville.

CK police said officers were called to the liquor store on Saturday at around 10 p.m. for a report of a break and enter. Police found that one of the windows at the business had been broken and video surveillance footage showed a man stealing a case of beer.

Police utilized a K9 officer to quickly track a suspect to a nearby field where he was found allegedly caught drinking the stolen beer.

A 31-year-old Windsor man has been arrested and charged with break and enter and theft under $5,000. He has since been released with a future court date.

Police pull alleged drunk driver off the road

A local woman has been charged after police received a complaint about an impaired driver in Chatham.

Police in CK said an impaired driver was spotted leaving a business on Grand Avenue at around 12 a.m. Sunday morning. The vehicle was stopped by an officer on Richmond Street and the driver was arrested and taken to police headquarters for a breath test.

As a result, a 37-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and impaired driving.

She has been released from custody with a future court date.
