Woman arrested after allegedly kicking officer
A 38-year-old Chatham woman has been arrested after she allegedly kicked a police officer in the leg.
Chatham-Kent police said the woman also tried to punch the officer, who was encouraging the woman to leave a property on Grand Avenue East in Chatham at around 2 p.m. Monday.
Police said they were called to the scene for a complaint of an unwanted person on the property, adding that the woman allegedly became belligerent when she was encouraged to leave.
The officer who was hit did not require any medical treatment.
The woman who was arrested was charged with assaulting a peace officer and she is now required to appear in court on August 11, 2021 to answer to the charge.

Police find crystal meth on wanted man
A 42-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for skipping a court date on Monday is back in police custody after officer allegedly found him while they were looking into a disturbance call in Chatham early Tuesday morning.
Police said they were called to a residence on Park Avenue East at around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday and found the man, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court the day before.
While police were searching the man, they also allegedly found some crystal methamphetamine in his possession, so he was charged with drug possession as well.
The accused was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
