Lambton Public Health reported just one new case of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
Since the start of the pandemic there have been 3,639 confirmed cases of the virus. The health unit said the number of cases deemed resolved increased by three to 3,568, lowering the active case count by two to three.
There are no active workplace or institutional outbreaks.
Lambton Medical Officer of Health Dr. Sudit Ranade said he's been very encouraged by the local numbers over the last few weeks.
"We've been a couple weeks out from when we could do more things, and probably several weeks out from the last time before that when we opened a little bit more," said Dr. Ranade. "I think that people are probably doing a lot more social activities than they had been two weeks, three weeks or so ago. There's still a window where we could get more cases but this is really encouraging."
There have been no COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health since July 21.
