Chatham man mugged by three strangers

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after an 18-year-old man who was out for a walk in Chatham was robbed by three strangers.

Police said the man was walking on Keil Drive at around 9:30 p.m. Monday when the three unknown men assaulted him and stole his money.

Lawn tractor reported stolen in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to track down a red Honda lawn tractor that was reported stolen from Michener Auto Body on Grand Avenue East.

Officer said it was taken sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

Man accused of sideswiping parked cab while impaired

A 36-year-old Chatham man is facing an impaired driving charge after he allegedly drove a vehicle into a parked cab in Chatham early Wednesday morning.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene on Churchill Park Road at around 3 a.m. Wednesday, adding that the man had allegedly sideswiped the cab.

Officers said their investigation led them to believe the man was driving under the influence of alcohol and he later failed a roadside test.

The accused was taken back to police headquarters for further breath tests and was later charged with having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

He was later released pending a future court date.

Man arrested after domestic disturbance in Chatham

A 35-year-old man of no fixed address is facing two assault charges after an argument at an apartment in Chatham turned violent Tuesday evening.

Police said they responded to a domestic disturbance shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday, adding that their investigation showed it was not the first incident of domestic violence between the couple.

The accused was charged with assault and assault causing bodily harm. He was later released pending a future court date.

Two men ordered to stay apart arrested after they were found together

A 50-year-old Alberta man and a 58-year-old Raleigh Township man have both been arrested and charged after police found them together despite a court order telling them to stay apart.

Police said the Alberta man had previously been ordered not to attend the specific address in Raleigh Township, so he was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions. Officers said he was also wanted on outstanding warrants.

The 58-year-old man, who owns the home they were in, was arrested and charged with facilitating a breach.

Both of the accused were later released with future court dates.
