Tipster leads police to break-in suspect
A 32-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged after police followed up on a tip about a break-in in progress in Chatham.
Police said an observant citizen tipped them off about the incident on King Street East at around 7 p.m. Thursday, adding that the tipster reported seeing a man forcing his way into the home.
Officers said they found a man inside the residence with a backpack that had various electronics inside.
He was arrested, charged, and later released with a future court date.

Tilbury man charged after family dispute
A 19-year-old Tilbury man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened a family member while he was holding a stick and damaged her car.
Police said they were called to respond to the family dispute at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, adding that the man resisted arrest and started screaming when police were taking him into custody.
The man was later charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, mischief, and resisting arrest. He was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Tilbury woman charged with assault
A 22-year-old Tilbury woman has been arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats in connection with a domestic dispute in Tilbury Thursday night.
Police said they were called to the scene shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday, adding that officers learned a disturbance between the woman and her fiance had escalated into a physical altercation.
The woman also allegedly threatened another family member who was in the home at the time.
Police said she was charged with assault and uttering threats and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

One crash under investigation, charge laid after another
Chatham-Kent police are still investigating a two-vehicle crash on Queens Line near the westbound Highway 401 on-ramp that took place Thursday afternoon.
Police said minor injuries were reported and the damage was estimated at $30,000.
Officers were also called to a separate single-vehicle crash at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday on Wheatley Road near Zion Road.
Police said in that case, the driver lost control of her vehicle before it came to a stop in the ditch.
Minor injuries were reported and the total damage was estimated at $15,000.
A 33-year-old woman was charged with careless driving and failing to have an insurance card.
