Over 700 Sarnia-Lambton residents decided to get the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine over the past week.
On September 1, Lambton Public Health reported that 89,615 first doses have been administered locally, up from 88,900 reported on August 25. Adults with at least one dose represent 78.3 per cent of the eligible population, up from 77.7 per cent last week.
Fully vaccinated adults now make up 73.2 per cent of the eligible population, up from 72.3 per cent last Wednesday. A total of 1,219 people got their second shots over the past week.
The health unit reported one new case and three more recoveries Wednesday morning, bringing active infections down to 11.
There have been a total of 3,690 confirmed cases, 3,610 resolved, and 69 COVID-related deaths during the pandemic.
