The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit is working to make it easier for employers who are implementing workplace vaccination policies.
The health unit has developed a COVID-19 Vaccine Support Package for Employers, which provides workplaces with the resources and supports they need to implement a vaccine policy for their staff.
On Friday afternoon, Chatham-Kent Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Colby released a letter urging employers across the municipality to institute a workplace vaccination policy for their business or organization.
"This will help protect your work environment and assist us in achieving higher overall vaccination rates across Chatham-Kent," said Colby. "This is a necessary step towards putting the COVID-19 pandemic behind us and protecting ourselves, those we know, and those we do not."
The support package outlines all the considerations and components that Colby recommends employers include in their vaccination policy.

As of Thursday, 72 per cent of eligible Chatham-Kent residents born in 2009 or earlier are fully vaccinated.
