COVID caseload up eight, two new outbreaks

Lambton Public Health reported another single-digit increase in COVID-19 cases Monday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported eight new confirmed cases for a total of 4,185 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The number of resolved cases increased by three to 4,074, increasing the active case count by five to 40.

The death toll is unchanged at 71 and there are three active outbreaks. The latest two were declared over the weekend at unnamed workplaces. There are two infections linked to each site.

Bluewater Health has three COVID-positive patients in hospital.
