In-person public meeting set for Wheatley residents

Wheatley residents who were affected by the August explosion will have another chance to have their questions answered.

A public meeting will be held at the Talbot Trail Golf Club located at 790 Talbot Trail on Wednesday, November 3 at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting is being hosted by the Active Citizens Of Wheatley.

The panel will include Mayor Darrin Canniff, Chief Administrative Officer Don Shropshire, and West-Kent Councillors Melissa Harrigan and Mark Authier.

Seating at the in-person event will be limited to 150 people inside, said officials. However, a sound system will be set up outside to accommodate an additional 80 people.

Attendance for the in-person session will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, with priority seating reserved for residents and businesses from the evacuation zone.

Proof of vaccination will be required for entry and social distancing will be observed.
