CK councillor named Mrs. Goodfellow

The Chatham Goodfellows are gearing up for another busy year for their "No Child Without A Christmas" campaign.

At their 67th annual general dinner on Thursday, November 4, they announced Amy Finn as this year's Mrs. Goodfellow.

Finn, a retired Chatham-Kent police officer and current municipal councillor for Ward 6, has volunteered with the Goodfellows since 1988 and joined their Board of Directors in 2002.

The Chatham Maroons were presented with the President's Award for helping the Goodfellows for over 27 years, collecting toys and going door-to-door collecting donations during Porch Light.

The late Rick Maynard was awarded the Chatham Goodfellows Lifetime achievement. Rick volunteered for the Chatham Goodfellows for more than 50 years, and the award was presented to his family.

The Goodfellows office opens on Monday, November 8. Anyone looking to register for a food and toy basket can call 519-354-1146, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Existing clients can also apply online at www.chathamgoodfellows.ca.

Other important dates include the annual Porch Light campaign on November 29th and Street Sales on December 10 and 11.
