Another increase in COVID-19 cases in Midwestern Ontario.
Huron Perth Public Health added 26 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, and reported a total of 60 active cases. Two of the new cases are in Stratford, ten in Perth East, five in North Perth, two in South Huron, two in Morris-Turnberry, two in Huron East, two in Central Huron and two in Bluewater. One case was transferred to another health unit. Four people are now fighting the virus in hospital. The outbreak continues at Milverton Public School.
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public health reports five residents are now hospitalized with COVID-19, with unvaccinated 11.9% more likely to end up in hospital with the virus compared to vaccinated people. Wellington Dufferin Guelph added 22 new cases over the weekend, including 15 in Wellington. There are 43 active cases in Wellington, including 21 in Mapleton, four in Minto, and two in Wellington North.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit added five new cases since Sunday. There are 31 active cases, and two residents are in hospital with the virus. Three new cases were in West Grey, one in Meaford, and one in The Blue Mountains
