The COVID-19 caseload in Sarnia-Lambton has dropped, and no new cases were recorded Monday.
In its daily update, Lambton Public Health reported the number of lab confirmed cases of the virus since March 2020 has decreased to 8,793. Eight cases previously recorded as COVID have been reclassified.
The number of cases deemed resolved increased by 71 to 8,379, lowering the number of known active cases by 79 to 306. The death toll is unchanged at 108.
There are 35 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, up one from Sunday, five of them in the ICU.
On Monday afternoon, Bluewater Health, in consultation with Lambton Public Health, declared an end to the COVID-19 outbreak on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit in Sarnia.
The hospital says diligent infection prevention and control measures were key in helping control the outbreak.
Their website also includes another related death, the 88th at the Sarnia hospital since the start of the pandemic.
