Bluewater Health reports another COVID-related death

There has been another COVID-related death at Bluewater Health.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 89 deaths linked to the virus at the Sarnia hospital. Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said the latest fatality was a Lambton area man in his 60s.

There are currently 37 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, up two from Monday, four of them are in intensive care.

Lambton Public Health Tuesday reported 38 new lab confirmed cases and 75 more resolved cases, lowering the number of known active infections by 37 to 269.

To date, there have been 8,831 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton, 8,454 recoveries and 108 related deaths.

There are eight active outbreaks, down from 13 on Monday.

Outbreaks previously declared at Bluewater Health, Fairwinds Lodge, Sumac Lodge and two unnamed workplaces have ended.
