Police allegedly find drugs on wanted woman

A 32-year-old Wallaceburg woman who was wanted by police has been arrested and charged after officers allegedly found some drugs on her while she was being arrested.

Chatham-Kent police said they found the woman on Wallace Street Monday night and arrested her on an outstanding warrant.

When they were arresting her, officers allegedly found some suspected crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.

As a result, the woman was charged with three counts of drug possession.

She was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Report of unwanted man leads to arrest

A 26-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions after he was allegedly caught out past his curfew.

Police said the man was supposed to obey a daily curfew of 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. but they allegedly found him at a home in Chatham at around 11:30 p.m. when they were responding to a report of an unwanted man at the residence.

Officers said the man was also wanted an an outstanding warrant.

He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Two drivers charged after crashes in CK

Two people are facing charges after a pair of crashes in Chatham-Kent Monday afternoon.

In the first case, police said a 17-year-old Scarborough teen was charged with careless driving after officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Pioneer Line near Bear Line Road in Dover Township at around 2 p.m. Monday.

No injuries were reported and the damage was estimated at $10,000.

In the second case, a 20-year-old Chatham man was charged with unsafely starting from a stopped position after a two-vehicle crash on Richmond Street near Raleigh Street in Chatham.

No injuries were reported and the damage was estimated at $3,000.

Suspended driver stopped for speeding

A 42-year-old Chatham man is facing charges and his vehicle has been towed and impounded for seven days after police pulled him over on Fairview Line between Harwich Road and Mull Road Monday morning.

Police said a member of the CKPS Traffic Unit pulled the man over and charged him with speeding and driving while under suspension.
