Another demonstration to support protesters in Ottawa will be held in Chatham on Saturday.
Organizers said it is for all those who couldn't make it to Ottawa with the self-described "Freedom Convoy" last week and is in support of ending all COVID-19 mandates.
Chatham-Kent police (CKPS) said there will be police enforcement at the protest.
"We at CKPS are aware of the event and have resources in place as public and road safety remains a primary concern," said Public Information Officer Lynette Hodder.
The protest begins at Walmart at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will wind down St. Clair Street to Grand Avenue, then to Communication Road, Park Avenue, Keil Drive, and back onto Grand Avenue. The Chatham convoy is expected to drive the route twice. A similar protest was held in Chatham last Saturday.
Organizers are asking participants to be "peaceful and calm and not engage in any conflict."
Drivers are asked to obey all traffic laws, drive at 30 km/hr, and remain in the right lane unless the lead car changes lanes. They're also being asked to not run yellow lights to keep up and not honk their horns, in order to avoid complaints.
