Chatham man arrested after foot chase

A 38-year-old Chatham man is facing several charges after police were called to investigate a report of an "altercation involving a weapon" in downtown Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said the call came in shortly before midnight, adding that police found the man a short distance away when they arrived.

He allegedly refused to cooperate with officers, though, and took off running.

Police were able to chase him down and took him into custody.

As a result of the investigation, the man was charged with one count each of weapons dangerous, assault with a weapon, theft, theft of mail, resisting arrest, and drug possession. He was also charged with two counts of possession of stolen property and three counts of failing to comply with his probation.

The accused was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

They did have some similarities, though.
