Officials with the two largest school boards in Lambton-Kent say they're looking forward to holding in-person graduations this year.
St. Clair Catholic District School Board Education Director Scott Johnson said many large school activities will be face-to-face starting March 21, 2022 not just graduations.
"We look forward to returning to larger celebrations in our schools. Masses, school assemblies, and graduations. We will definitely be moving to face-to-face," said Johnson.
Lambton-Kent District School Board Education Director John Howitt said the face-to-face graduations have been missed the past two years and schools are looking forward to celebrating students and other community-building activities.
"Things like assemblies, things like school fairs, things like performances that take place. We're looking forward to all of those community-building activities and especially celebrating the graduation of our students," Howitt said.
Those graduating this year were in Grade 10 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, shutting down Ontario schools for more than 27 weeks over the next three years.
Many schools have had to hold drive-through or outdoor graduations and celebrations over the last two years.
