Wire and pipe stolen in Wallaceburg

A Wallaceburg woman has a future court date after allegedly stealing a few thousand dollars worth of wire and pipe.

According to police, officers responded on Thursday morning to a break and enter and theft complaint at a property undergoing renovations on Nelson Street in Wallaceburg.

Around $2,700 worth of wire and copper pipe was removed.

Through investigation police located some of the property. Two suspects were identified as being in possession of the items

A 56-year-old woman was located and arrested for possession of stolen property. She was released with a future court date.

A warrant is being requested for the second person.

St Patrick's Day RIDE programs a success 

Chatham-Kent police were busy keeping the roadways safe on St. Patrick's Day.

On Thursday night, police conducted RIDE checks at various locations in Chatham, Blenheim and Wallaceburg.

According to police, a total of 842 vehicles were stopped and checked. No infractions were observed.
