Suspended driver spotted out past his curfew
A 41-year-old Chatham man is facing a handful of charges after he was allegedly caught driving while suspended late Sunday night.
Chatham-Kent police said an officer saw the driver of a white GMC Envoy committing "multiple driving infractions" just before 12 a.m. Monday.
Police said the officer saw the driver leave the vehicle and get into a nearby residence before eventually coming back out to speak with police.
Police said the officer then learned that the man was suspended from driving for unpaid fines and novice violations and that he was also previously released on conditions with a curfew that required him to stay inside his residence from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily.
As a result, the man was charged with dangerous driving and failing to comply with his release conditions. He was also issued two notices for driving while suspended.

Female customer takes off after trying to walk through drive thru
A female customer who was denied service after she walked up to a drive thru at a business on Park Avenue in Chatham is still on the loose.
Police said they were called to the scene just after 12 a.m. Monday after the customer refused to leave.
Officers said they were told the customer walked up to the drive thru window and tried to force open the window after she was told that they don't serve walk-ups in the drive thru lane.
The customer allegedly took off before police showed up, though, and officers couldn't find her in the area near the business.
Officers are reminding the public to "respect businesses and the rules they have in place for customers and employees for their safety."
