Man charged after carrying gun inside case around Wallaceburg
A 44-year-old man who was allegedly seen carrying around a gun case was arrested and faces two firearm charges.
Police said they received a call about a suspicious person in Wallaceburg carrying a gun case which was believed to have a gun inside.
When officers arrived, they saw the man running from the area and enter a unit at an apartment complex.
They located the man, who was not a resident, inside the unit.
Police said inside the gun case was a .22 calibre rifle.
The man was arrested and charged with careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
He was released with a future court date.

Collision leads to impaired driving charge
A 27-year-old man is facing an impaired driving charge after a single-vehicle collision in Thamesville.
Police said they received a call about the collision around 8 p.m. Friday night.
Through investigation, police found the driver was impaired by alcohol.
He was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was charged with operating while impaired and operating 80 over the legal limit.
The 27-year-old was released with a future court date.

Theft charge in Chatham
A 43-year-old Chatham woman is facing a theft charges after she was seen stealing multiple items from a Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen Street in Chatham.
Police said staff saw her removing multiple items off of the shelf and putting them in her pocket before leaving the store without paying.
She was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by a crime.
The 43-year-old was released with a future court date.
