Man charged after domestic incident

A 19-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault after police were called to investigate a domestic disturbance on Thames Street in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the residence just before 9 a.m. Sunday and arrested the man after learning about a physical altercation between a woman and her boyfriend.

The accused was arrested, charged with one count of assault, and later released with a future court date.

Woman arrested for allegedly assaulting her mother

A 26-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is facing charges after she allegedly assaulted her mother during a family dispute in Chatham Sunday morning.

Police said they were called to the residence at 9:15 a.m. Sunday and charged the woman with one count of uttering threats and two counts of assault.

The accused was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Wallaceburg woman arrested for Pain Court theft

Chatham-Kent police have caught up with a 26-year-old Wallaceburg woman who was wanted in connection with a theft at a business in Pain Court earlier this month.

Police said they were called to investigate the theft on Winter Line on May 19 and identified a woman who was involved. Officers weren't able to find her, though, so a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Police said they saw the woman driving on Bruce Street in Wallaceburg at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, so they pulled her vehicle over and arrested her.

The woman was charged with one count of theft and was later released with a future court date.

Wallaceburg man arrested for bail violation

A 27-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing charges after he allegedly contacted a woman he had been ordered to stay away from.

Police said they started investigating when they were called to a domestic disturbance on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg just before 3:30 a.m. Monday and learned that the man had allegedly called the a woman he had been banned from associating with.

Officers said they arrived at the house at the same time the man showed up there, so they arrested him.

The accused was charged with two counts of breaching his release conditions and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
