$61-million in illegal pot seized in Kingsville (Gallery)

The Ontario Provincial Police seized more than 45,000 illicit cannabis plants and eight-tonnes of processed pot after carrying out search warrants in Kingsville.

The total haul is worth $61-million.

The OPP Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team swooped in on two greenhouses and two homes last Tuesday. Members of the Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit assisted, along with OPP West Region Emergency Response Team, OPP West Region Community Street Crime Unit, the Canada Border Services Agency, and Windsor Police.

Police also seized $300,000 in what they call "offence-related" property.

So far, police have not charged anyone. The investigation is ongoing, and investigators would like to hear from anyone with information. The number to call is 1-888-310-1122. Crime Stoppers is also taking tips at 1-800-222-8477.
