Woman arrested for leaving LCBO without paying
A 39-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is facing a pair of charges after she tried out get out of a local LCBO with a five-finger discount.
Chatham-Kent police said they arrested the woman after they were called to the liquor store on Wellington Street West in Chatham shortly before noon on Tuesday.
Officers said their investigation showed that the woman had allegedly taken a bottle of wine from the shelves of the store and left without paying for it.
She was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and later released with a future court date.

Call about suspicious activity leads police to suspect
A 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man is in trouble with the law after police went to check out a report of some suspicious activity at the Fifth Street Bridge in Chatham.
Police said when they arrived shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers found a gathering of people there and one of them was identified as a suspect who had allegedly tried to steal some catalytic converters earlier the same day.
When police were arresting the man, they also reported finding some suspected fentanyl in his possession.
The accused was charged with mischief and drug possession and was later taken to police headquarters with a future court date.

Stumbling man arrested for public intoxication
A 45-year-old Wallaceburg man who was seen stumbling and walking on the road in Wallaceburg early Wednesday morning spent some time sobering up in police custody.
Police said they arrested him and charged him with being intoxicated in a public place after finding him on Albert Street.
Officers said he was taken back to police headquarters and held him there until he sobered up.
