Tilbury's Brochu headed to World Juniors

Goaltender Brett Brochu will get another chance to represent Team Canada.

Hockey Canada unveiled the 25-man roster for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championships on Monday, and the 19-year-old from Tilbury was one of three goalies on the list.

Brochu represented Canada at the World Juniors in December and started one game, making 20 saves in an 11-2 win over Austria. But the tournament was postponed the next day after multiple game cancellations due to COVID-19.

The delayed tournament will take place August 9-20 in Edmonton. Team Canada will gather in Calgary for a training camp August 2-7 before travelling to Edmonton.

Brochu currently plays for the London Knights in the OHL and was named the OHL goaltender of the year.
