Woman faces charge after allegedly biting officer
Chatham-Kent Police say an officer was bit while making an arrest in Wallaceburg.
A woman, who had an outstanding warrant, was stopped by police while on a bicycle. As police tried to arrest her, investigators said she tried to kick multiple officers and was able to bite one.
She was taken to police headquarters. In addition to the charge on the warrant, she's also now facing charges of assault and resisting a peace officer.
Teen faces impaired driving charge
Early Friday morning police noticed a vehicle that was being driven erratically. After a traffic stop, officers determined the driver had been using drugs.
A Chatham man, who is 19, is charged with operation while impaired by drug. He'll appear in court next month.
U-turn leads to impaired driving charge
A Blenheim man was charged after trying to make a u-turn to avoid contact with police.
Chatham-Kent Police and the OPP were investigating a crash at Creek Road and Communications Road early Saturday morning.
A vehicle got close to the scene of the collision, and the driver decided to make a u-turn.
Police stopped the vehicle and determined the man behind the wheel had been drinking. He was arrested.
A 42-year-old suspect was charged with operation while impaired 80 plus. He'll appear in court next month.
Tools stolen in break and enter
Police are asking for the public's help, after some tools were stolen in Chatham.
A shed on Grey Street was broken into this week, and a large quantity of tools were taken.
