Police find replica gun, taser on man banned from possessing weapons
A 45-year-old Wallaceburg man who was hit with a ban on possessing weapons earlier this summer is in more trouble with the law now.
Chatham-Kent police said they picked him up on Murray Street South in Wallaceburg just before noon Thursday after they found out he was carrying an energy-conducted weapon and a replica handgun.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of unauthorized possession and was taken back to police headquarters.
He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Wallaceburg man arrested for impaired driving
A 29-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing an impaired driving charge after police followed up on a traffic complaint in Chatham Township Thursday afternoon.
Chatham-Kent police said the report indicated that a vehicle was driving erratically at around 5:23 p.m. Thursday and officers were able to find the vehicle.
The officer believed the man was driving under the influence of alcohol, so he was arrested and taken back to police headquarters for further breath tests.
The accused was later charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit before he was released with conditions and a future court date.
