Man arrested for driving by residence he was supposed to stay away 

A 43-year-old Chatham man is in more trouble with the law after he allegedly drove by a residence on Macfarlane Avenue in Chatham that he had been ordered to stay away from.

Police said on February 15, 2022, the man entered into a release order with conditions to not attended within 100 meters of a woman's home.

Just after 7 p.m. on Friday, police said they received a complaint that the man was violating his conditions by driving by the woman's home.

The man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking.

He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of October 17, 2022.

Man accused of smashing business window 

A 39-year-old Chatham man has been charged with mischief after he allegedly smashed the window of a business on Queen Street in Chatham.

Police said the man was located in the parking lot of the business around 8:44 a.m. Friday morning.

He was arrested and later released from custody with a future court date to answer to the charge.
