Suspect drives into police cruiser while fleeing break-in
Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after a suspect allegedly hit a police cruiser that had shown up to investigate a break-in early Monday morning.
Police said they were responding to a break and enter call at a home under construction on Scane Road at around 2 a.m. Monday when the suspect, who was fleeing the scene in a vehicle, struck a police cruiser.
Officers said a Stihl chainsaw and an estimated 500 liters of gasoline were reported stolen.

Windsor man found hiding in corn field after crash
A 40-year-old Windsor man is facing a pair of charges after he allegedly crashed a vehicle and then tried to hide in a nearby corn field.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene of a single vehicle crash on Cedar Hedge Line at around 8 a.m. on Sunday and found the vehicle unoccupied when they arrived.
Officers later found the driver hiding in a nearby field and arrested him.
He was charged with failing to report a collision and careless driving.

Wallaceburg man breaches house arrest by jumping out of a window
A 43-year-old Wallaceburg man is in more trouble with police after he allegedly breached his house arrest by jumping out of the window of a residence.
Police said that happened while they were responding to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Bruce Street in Wallaceburg at around 11 p.m. Sunday.
Officers said the man was arrested after a brief foot chase and he was then taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
