Walpole collision sends six to hospital

A 20-year-old driver from Wallaceburg has been charged following a collision over the weekend that sent half a dozen people to hospital.

Members of the Walpole Island Police Service, Lambton OPP and the Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Service responded to a two vehicle crash on Tecumseh Road at around 6 p.m. Saturday.

OPP Constable Jamie Bydeley said six individuals were transported to hospital.

Ace Altiman-Wright was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired causing bodily harm.

Altiman-Wright has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Lambton OPP are urging anyone who sees a driver they suspect may be impaired by alcohol or drugs, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or *OPP (677) on your mobile phone.

Further information, including the ages and condition of the individuals taken to hospital, was not released.
