Man arrested on outstanding warrants 

A Chatham-Kent man is facing charges after a warrant arrest landed him in even deeper trouble with the law.

According to police, the man was located by officers just before 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. The man was wanted for failing to attend court and was arrested.

While searching the man, officers allegedly found him in possession of a suspected controlled substance.

The 32-year-old was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was released with conditions and a future court date.

Bail violation leads to arrest

A 31-year-old Wallaceburg man is in trouble with the law after allegedly getting caught somewhere he shouldn't have been.

Around 11:30 p.m. Monday, officers began investigating a bail violation in Wallaceburg.

According to police, the man was on court-ordered conditions to remain inside his Thomas Street residence between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. However, officers allegedly found him on Wallace Street outside of those hours.

As a result, he was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Traffic blitz in CK

Chatham-Kent police were busy keeping an eye on the roads over the long weekend.

Throughout the day on Monday, the Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit and Community Patrol Officers conducted a traffic enforcement blitz in various locations across the municipality.

As a result, 51 Provincial Offence Notices were issued for speeding and other Highway Traffic Act violations.
