Woman arrested after allegedly assaulting another woman, officer 

A 40-year-old woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting another woman who was walking a dog on Wellington Street in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the disturbance Saturday afternoon.

Police learned that the woman exited her vehicle and assault the woman without provocation.

The 71-year-old woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the woman allegedly kicked an officer as she was being arrested.

The woman has been charged with assault, assault police, and breach of probation. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man accused of assaulting partner during domestic disturbance 

Chatham-Kent police have charged a 31-year-old man alleged to have assaulted his partner during a disturbance in Wallaceburg.

The incident started off as a verbal argument but escalated, according to police.

The man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. He was released with a future court date on November 7.

Family disturbance leads to arrest, mischief charge 

A 26-year-old man is facing a mischief charge after a family dispute in Chatham early Sunday morning.

Police said the man damaged lights inside his mother's home.

He was arrested, charged, and has been held up in custody pending a bail hearing.
