Wanted man caught after yelling at an employee

A 47-year-old Walpole Island man who was wanted for failing to attend court has been arrested after he got the attention of police by shouting at an employee in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police said they found the man after they followed up on a report of someone yelling at an employee at a business on McNaughton Avenue just after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers said when they learned the man was wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court, they arrested him and then later released him with a future court date.

Homeowner watches man throw a rock at his vehicle

A 47-year-old Walpole Island man is charged with mischief after he allegedly threw a rock at a Wallaceburg resident's vehicle early Wednesday morning.

Police said a homeowner on Blake Street in Wallaceburg called them after he heard a noise outside of his home and then saw a man pick up a rock and throw it at his vehicle, cracking the windshield.

Officers were called in just after 1:40 a.m. Wednesday and found a suspect a short distance away.

The man accused of throwing the rock was charged with mischief and taken back to police headquarters, then released with conditions and a future court date.
