Two arrests on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police have caught up with two more people who were on their wanted list.

Police said they arrested a 39-year-old Chatham man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching his probation and mischief just after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers said he was on Queen Street in Chatham when they found him.

He was taken into custody and later released with a future court date.

A 40-year-old man who was wanted for failing to attend court, failing to comply with a probation order, and obstructing a peace officer was also arrested on Wednesday.

Police said they picked him up on St. Clair Street in Chatham just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The accused was taken back to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

School break-in

Chatham-Kent police are looking for some tools, both the human and inanimate kind.

Investigators said someone broke into Wallaceburg District Secondary School sometime between Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and Thursday at 6:00 a.m. and took several tools, including Dewalt cordless drills, cordless saws, multi-tools, a crosshair laser, a Mastercraft heat gun, a Great Stuff spray foam gun, miscellaneous drill bits, pry bars, and batteries engraved with “CARE.”
