A man involved in a shooting in Chatham last year will be sentenced next year.
Terry St. Hill found out on Thursday that his sentencing hearing will be held, via Zoom, on February 6, 2023.
St. Hill, who was initially charged with attempted murder, pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm with the intent to endanger life at the end of September. He also pleaded guilty in May to killing a dog during the shooting in Chatham on January 26, 2021.
St. Hill is one of five people accused of attempting to murder three men from Chatham on Harvey Street in Chatham in January of 2021.
He remains in custody at the jail in Penetanghuishene after being transferred from the jail in Thunder Bay where he was arrested a few months after the shooting.
The charges against Brianne Gardiner and Rylee DeJonge-Vandusen were withdrawn in September.
The two other men accused of attempted murder, who can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act because they were both minors at the time of the shooting, previously pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of aggravated assault and are both on two years probation.
The court previously heard St. Hill fired four shots and the shooting started with a social media dispute where threats were made against the Chatham victims before the accused all jumped in a car and drove from Cambridge to settle a score.
The judge was also told that Gardiner and DeJonge-Vandusen stayed in the car and were not involved in the shooting.
Two publication bans prevent the victims of the targeted shooting from being named.
