Southern Ontarians should prepare for another blustery day on Saturday.
Environment Canada issued a wind warning for most of the region Friday evening, including Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton, London-Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford counties, Huron-Perth and Grey Bruce County.
"Westerly winds gusting to 90 [kilometres per hour] are expected Saturday morning into Saturday afternoon in the wake of a strong cold front," read a statement from the weather agency.
Strong gusts of wind can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings. Loose objects may also be tossed around by the wind, which can pose a danger. Hydro outages are also possible during wind storms.
Saturday is also expected to bring a mixed bag of precipitation with rain in the forecast for areas near Windsor, Chatham-Kent, Sarnia, London and parts of Midwestern Ontario. The wind is expected to ease in the evening when temperatures are forecasted to fall below freezing overnight. Rain in some areas could change to snow, creating icy conditions which may make travelling hazardous.
